PoE-tekniken (Ström över Ethernet) gör det möjligt att överföra elektrisk ström via tvinnad Ethernet-kabel. Det innebär att enheter som kräver ström, t.ex. bordstelefoner och trådlösa accesspunkter, kan strömförsörjas via samma kabel som transporterar deras data. När du väljer en PoE-lösning för ditt nätverk är det viktigt att kontrollera att alla dina enheter är kompatibla med den typ av Power over Ethernet (PoE) som du använder. Dessutom måste du ta hänsyn till hur mycket ström varje enhet behöver när du bestämmer hur många portar du behöver på din switch eller injektor.
