Ersa was founded in 1921 to produce the original electric soldering irons. Following the early success of the company's products, Ersa continued to develop soldering technology and today it not only manufactures individual soldering irons but complete soldering systems using reflow, selective soldering and wave soldering technology. In 1993, Ersa was taken over by the Kurt Group and renamed Kurtz Ersa. The family-owned company's philosophy is to maintain a competitive technological lead to optimise customers' production processes. The company operates an ISO 9001:2008 certified quality management system, complies with the ISO 18001:2007 occupational heath requirements and the ISO 14001: 2004 environmental management standard. Ersa manufactures a complete range of temperature-controlled soldering, desoldering and rework stations designed to optimise soldering and to enable efficient rework without causing damage to sensitive PCBs. A comprehensive range of replacement soldering tips is available, designed for extremely fine work in hard-to-reach places, as well as conventional chisel-shaped tips. The company also manufactures standalone soldering irons with different wattages, and the range includes portable gas-operated units. Accessories include solder baths, desoldering tweezers, heaters and sponges.
