The story of Bahco hand tools begins in 1886 in Enköping, Sweden, where Swedish innovator Johan Petter Johansson launched his tool-making enterprise. Producing simple hand tools on an industrial scale, JP as he soon became known, then developed a design for what is now known as the ‘plumber’s wrench’, in 1888. Within three years, this invaluable device was followed by a fully adjustable version and the company soon began to build a formidable reputation for high-quality hand tools of every description. In the modern era, Bahco is now an important part of SNA Europe and the Bahco brand has achieved global renown. The Bahco range now extends to over 7,000 implements used by the domestic handyman and building and construction trades alike, with each component bearing the company’s iconic and instantly recognisable ‘fish and hook’ logo. Manufactured from premium-quality steel, Bahco’s saw and knife blades are highly valued because they are ‘hard and tough’ without any trace of brittleness. The same high standards and production values apply throughout the Bahco product range where hardware and equipment such as files, spanners, sockets, pliers and much more – all featuring designs optimised for performance and ergonomics – have become the hand tools of choice in sectors as diverse as plumbing, woodworking, forestry and refrigeration.
