Wireless AP / Bridge / Client

A wireless access point (AP) is an electronic device that is designed to combat issues with slow, unreliable, or out of range Wi-Fi connections. It can be a standalone unit connected to a router, or part of a router. A wireless AP expands the range of an existing wireless network and usually uses a high-speed Ethernet cable to connect devices to the LAN. It is important to note that a wireless AP is not the same as a wireless router.
